This conference has been organised for persons with PPS and
ME, for medical personnel who may have occasion to treat
them, and other persons who may be interested in this
condition.



ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
---------------------------------

RICHARD L BRUNO, HD. PhD, is a clinical psychophysiologist
specialising in the treatment of chronic conditions – fatigue,
pain, and stress – as well as Post-Polio Sequelae (PPS), the
unexpected and often disabling fatigue, muscle weakness and
pain that are occurring in the world's 20 million survivors of
polio. He is internationally acknowledged as the world He is
chairperson of The International Post-Polio Task Force, an
associate professor at New York's Mount Sinai School of
Medicine, and director of The Post-Polio Education and
Research, and the Fatigue Management Programs at New
Jersey's Englewood Hospital and Medical Centre. Bruno is
internationally recognised as the world's foremost expert on
PPS.

ELIZABETH G DOWSETT, MB,ChB.Dip.Bact., is the UK's
foremost expert on the disabling disease, myalgic
encephalomyelitis that is estimated to affect up to 250,000
Britons. Dr Dowsett's nearly 40 years of study and treatment of
patients with ME is unequalled anywhere in the world. She
began her study and treatment of patients with ME in
collaboration with Dr Melvin Ramsay, who gave ME its name. In
1989 she created the NHS ME treatment centre in Harold
Wood, Essex, the first centre of its kind in the world. She has
examined and treated more than 3,000 ME patients during her
long and distinguished career, more than any other doctor in
the world.
